Contextual 37 – How splendid are these sessions?!

We held our 37th Contextual poetry reading event yesterday evening and once again were treated to five splendidly different and accomplished voices.

Our headline reader was David W. Berner. David is a journalist, broadcaster, and author of several books including the memoir ANY ROAD WILL TAKE YOU THERE, winner of the Chicago Writers Association Book of the Year Award. He lives and works outside Chicago.

The Abundance, David’s Substack site, is an exploration of what matters now, experience by experience. “I am the author of several books of fiction and memoir, poetry, essays, and short stories…and keep a notebook, and from what I write in that little old leather-bound journal, come these personal essays.”

David was most ably supported by Contextual regulars: Helen Boyles, Caroline Matusiak, Jonty Pennington-Twist, and Charlotte Wilson.

Readers for our next event (on Thursday 27th August, 19:30 UK-time) will be identified in the next two or three weeks.
