Should I use Eventbrite?

I’m thinking of using Eventbrite for Contextual virtual poetry reading event ticket management.

I’m sure having access to tickets/Zoom links automated rather than the current very manual process I employ would benefit not only me but attendees too… The only question is whether it’s worth the modest cost or not.

Mind you, it would also open the door for me to run some on-line workshops… There’s a thought…

I’m keen to know what my Contextual friends think of the idea. Would Eventbrite ticket automation vs. the current manual process work for you?

  1. Hi Ian

I’ve used Eventbrite a number of times to book into things. I don’t find it ideal, but that’s perhaps because I’m a bit of a Luddite. If it helps you, good, but it does of course introduce another layer between you and your mailing list – if that’s really what you would find helpful. But, also, once a person is on Eventbrite’s list, she can be bombarded with junk mail from other people touting other services…an irritant. I’ll keep using services whether they require Eventbrite or not, but I’m not that keen – just one point of view.
